But... is that all you get when you buy a house kit?
I founded Avrame after building my own A-frame house. One of the main things I wanted this company to deliver is the possibility to build a house without spending a fortune.
I wanted to pack my experience in a product that can deliver great value to people, without forcing them to adopt any particular kind of look or finish.
Your home is yours and YOU should be the one who gets to decide how the living experience has to feel like... I'm talking of the layout of the rooms, the interior finishes, the colors, the lights, the temperature you keep in the house...
This is why we make kit homes and not turn-key solutions.
I am a frugal person and I am a big fan of the idea of living with less to enjoy life more. I wanted to speak to people who share the same view of life.
However, most people are not ready to give up to comfort and high end finishes... and that's fine... just a matter of personal choice and budget.
Avrame houses can be as frugal or as classy as you want them to be... BUT... whichever your preference is, there are five things you get with the kit that add value to your building experience.
When we engineered the structure of the Avrame house models, one of the main requirements was to keep the ground floor free of load-bearing walls.
As a matter of fact, we wanted to have it empty.
We wanted to leave you the freedom to choose how your home should look like.
Now, we do have a serie of floor plans we propose as default solution... but they are just a suggestion!
All our floor plans are entirely customizable and we are able to deliver kits to build whichever rooms layout you fancy.
No waste of time and materials
When buying a kit home you trust your supplier to give you everything you need to get the structure of the house up.
Depending on the configuration of your kit, your kit might include all the components to make the house weathertight (recommended) or even to finish it inside.
Now, while more or less every kit house producer can fulfill on delivering materials, not all of them deliver a product which tiniest details are engineered to save your time on the construction site... and to avoid transforming the site in a scrapyard.
We worked hard to have every part of the structural kit cut to precision so that you don't have to measure and cut on-site. Ever.
Today, we are proud to say that our biggest models go up in less than a week and without hiccups and generate minimal material waste on the site.
Low shipping cost
One of the biggest issues with manufactured homes is that the components assembled in the factory have to be shipped to the construction site.
Depending on the location of the site, this can result quite complicated.
We chose to sell our houses in a pre-cut kit because that's the most environmentally responsible choice while being at the same time the most flexible one.
We wanted to make it easier for you (because juggling trucks on your property is never fun) and we wanted to make it inexpensive.
Almost all our home kits can be delivered with just one truck (if you buy a large kit + all the accessories we might need two).
We went through several design iterations to achieve this result.
A sound process
When we started selling house kits I had the experience of building my house... and this is experience is what I was sharing with our first customers.
Today, that experience has grown to have manufactured, packed, shipped and assisted the build of dozens of houses.
Time after time we refined the way we do it and we developed a very clear process for our customers.
Today that process is the cornerstone of our business and who buys a house kit from us highly appreciates that.
A reasonable cost
Well, the cost of Avrame homes is hard to beat.
From the very beginning, we pride ourselves to be able to supply affordable homes.
Of course, when you add fancy heating systems, entertainment systems, glossy finishes, and golden handles... you are still able to spend a fortune to build your Avrame house... but that's not on us... we provide a solution that works for everyone.
There is a lot of experience, thinking, engineering, packed into an Avrame house kit.
The price tag (as inexpensive as it is) does not only accounts for what you get in the package but also for all the things you don't have to spend extra (time, material waste, shipping, mistakes, ...).Today, I think we achieved what we set out ourselves to do.
In fact, as I write this, building an A-frame house with an Avrame kit is the obvious choice.
